Cylib GmbH, which recently emerged from RWTH Aachen University, received start-up funding of 3.6 million euros. The sum from a seed financing round will be used for sustainable battery recycling with proprietary technology. According to Cylib, the process enables the recovery of all materials from lithium-ion cells "with unprecedented efficiency and in an environmentally friendly manner".

Efficiency of more than 90 percent

Pilot factory planned in Aachen

The start-up capital from the start-up financing round will be used to implement a pilot factory in Aachen. The process, which has been developed over many years, is to be made industrially ready together with industry partners. Cyblis is in discussions with numerous candidates for strategic partnerships. These included automotive OEMs, cell manufacturers and raw material suppliers.
